Redford Township & U.S. Census Bureau

The U.S. Census Bureau is mailing its forms to Redford residents with “Detroit” as our address. The Bureau has been contacted and advised Redford residents to cross out “Detroit” and write Redford in its place. It is very important that Redford Township is counted in this census separately and not included with Detroit. We have notified our Congressional officials and encourage you to do the same, Rep. McCotter at 734-632-0314, Senator Levin’s office at 313-226-6020 and Senator Stabenow at 313-961-4330. For additional information, contact Garth Christie 313-387-2755.

At the Regular Board of Education meeting of Monday, March 8, 2010, the South Redford Board of Education and Superintendent established a meeting timeline and target date to approve the reductions needed to balance the 2010-2011 school budget.  The purpose of the meetings will be to gather input about the proposed cuts in services, staff and programs from District stakeholders through open discussions and the Budget Reduction Survey. Cuts are inevitable in order for the District to balance the budget. The meetings have been established to provide stakeholders the opportunity to voice their concerns and suggestions before the final budget meeting.
