Kindergarten Round UpKindergarten Round Up is scheduled for February 16th from 6-7 p.m. at Vandenberg.
Now is the time to have your kindergartener register for an excellent education with the South Redford Schools for the 2012-13 school year.
Children in
Parents must bring two proofs of residency for Wayne County-one current utility bill and the lease or mortgage papers. The child’s birth certificate and immunization records are also required in order to register.
If your child attends South Redford Preschool, residency has already been established. Students Learn About China

On Saturday, February 4th, Vandenberg families were invited to Zumba with Miss C. All proceeds supported Vandenberg's P.T.O.
Vandenberg Students Use Talents to Help Hungry
Vandenberg student potters under the tutelage of art teacher, Thia Homer, met after school on Jan. 25th to craft bowls to be sold at the Taste of Redford on March 25th. Sales of the handmade soup bowls will benefit the district’s Blessings in a Backpack program. Supporters of the program may purchase one of these works of art and a bowl of homemade soup for only $5. Vandenberg's Town Hall took place on Tuesday, January 31st. Students received awards for staying on green, Teacher Awards for special things, P.E. awards and much more. Most improved and PBS Class of the Month went to Mrs. Black's class for the upper elementary and Mrs. Schilbe's class for the lower elementary grades. Over the break, the rest of our playground equipment arrived. On Wednesday, January 11th, we had an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Herman Williams, PTO president, was in attendance. Vandenberg's PTO sponsored funding for this beautiful addition. Miss Carricato, PE teacher and winner of the NFL Play 60 grant, also participated as she gave funding from her grant to purchase this equipment. Since 2006, over 550 schools have completed the requirements for going green and achieved the Official Michigan Green Schools Certification. This year, 99 schools from
Teachers Monica Nick, Jefferson Elementary and Sarah Judge, Vandenberg Elementary accepted the Official Green School Certification with student representatives on behalf of their schools Monday, May 3, 2010. Having two official Michigan Green Schools in our district is certainly a point of pride for our schools and community.
