The mission statement of the Jane Addams PTA is "to encourage parents and teachers to work together to make the elementary school experience educational, beneficial, and fun for their children and students."
We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Media Center at Addams. Free childcare and light snacks are provided. Your Fundraising efforts allow us to connect activities directly to student learning funding has been allocated to the following events:
-Kindergarten ABC Olympics -1st grade field trip to Puppet Theater -2nd grade One Room School House / and Museum of Natural History -3rd grade Caldecott Challenge Celebration -4th grade Michigan Curriculum Field Trip and Celebration -5th Grade Camp -4th & 5th grade Battle of the Books -5th grade Author -Time for Kids -Scholastic News -Offset the cost of transportation for field trips The PTA also provides fun evenings for the families of Addams Elementary to come together and get to know one another.
-Family Sock Hop -Monthly Movie Nights -Family Fun Fair -Santa Shop You’re invited to join us, and see first hand the difference we make in our children’s future and how we continue to benefit our school. We need new faces and fresh ideas.

The PTA fundraisers support the 5th grade Camp Storer experience. This is a fantastic way for students to learn about working in teams and discovering the outdoors. Camp Storer photos taken by Mr. Bzovi
Throughout the year, the PTA plans and organizes many school fundraising events. The events provide the opportunity for our school families to work together and raise funds to purhcase items that improve our school. The events also allow children to volunteer to help reach our school goal as well. The PTA has made significant contributions to Addams Elementary through fundraising events. One item that was added in recent years was the new Addams Elementary sign. The sign has enchanced our school community and is another way we communicate with parents and residents of the Addams neighborhood.
