This year the students from Thurston High School's Video Production and Environmental Science classes are collaborating through projects where students visit streams and rivers within the River Rouge watershed, with the purpose of assessing water quality.  Students will use direct measures to assess stream quality, such as water chemistry, clarity and velocity. Students will also sample for aquatic invertebrates which can be used as an indirect measure of stream health.  Students will directly participate in all monitoring activities, giving them first-hand experience carrying out real scientific techniques.
HINI Message to Parents
11/2/2009 5:35:39 PM
South Redford School District, like many districts across the State of Michigan, has a few suspected or confirmed cases of H1N1 flu. The protocol for all ill individuals is to remain out of the school environment until at least 24 hours after being fever-free without the use of fever reducing medications. As a reminder, please discuss with your child the importance of proper hand washing, coughing, and sneezing techniques. Also, if your child develops flu-like symptoms, do not send them to school.
